Welcome to Hopes and Dreams. We are a not for profit, Christian faith based charity that is passionate about making a difference to the lives of the poor, needy and desperate people living in the remote and rural parts of Africa and India. We focus on two key areas:
All of our solutions are self-sustaining with a minimum of 90% of funds received going towards the projects. We are convinced that we can break generational poverty and see lives transformed through what we are doing. We can give hope to the hopeless and encourage the poor to awaken their dreams and possibilities. To date we have already impacted 59,510 valuable lives. We are currently positioning our Management Advisory Board to step up to the next level of operation and funding in order to meet the growing demand for support of our development projects amongst the poorest of the poor communities in India and Africa.
As such we are seeking additional board members with the requisite knowledge, skills and experience required to fulfil this.
Specific areas of knowledge, skills and experience we are seeking to enhance within the team include marketing & communications, fundraising, risk & governance, legal (especially international law for not for profits), not for profit board expertise and some exposure to micro enterprise development and/or water projects.
As we are a Christian, faith based organisation, we are seeking individuals who are committed to the mission and vision, who share and live out our core values and beliefs, who are ethical and integrous, who bring energy & fresh ideas, who are active and can contribute practically within and between meetings.
This is a voluntary position and there is no salary or remuneration.
The expected commitment is ideally for a minimum of 2 years, approximately 2 hours per board meeting. There are six board meetings held each year - approximately one meeting every two months. Commitment outside of board meetings is between 2-4 hours per week but only when required or as needed.
