Nominations for Royal Life Saving Society – Australia Board Positions Open

Royal Life Saving Society – Australia is seeking to recruit and appoint independent Directors to the Board for the term 2017-2019. The newly appointed Directors will join the eight Directors appointed by State and Territory Member Organisations, and work together to ensure effective governance.

Royal Life Saving Society – Australia is a leading national peak body for drowning prevention and water safety, with over 120 years of service to the Australian community, and is active in every State and Territory via a network of member organisations. We seek to lead efforts to reduce drowning and increase swimming, water safety and lifesaving skills across the Australian community.

Royal Life Saving’s Strategic Framework 2016-2020 prioritises drowning prevention leadership; research, policy and advocacy; community awareness and action; swimming, lifesaving and water safety pathways; safe aquatic locations; organisational cohesion, growth, people and culture.

Expressions of interest are sought from experienced and/or aspiring Directors who have the skills, time and willingness to contribute to our mission. The Board is seeking to appoint Directors who share the commitment to good governance, making a difference and valuing diversity.

Candidates will be reviewed by the RLSS Nominations Committee and recommended for appointment by the Board prior to the October 2017 AGM.
