The Queensland South Native Title Services (QSNTS) Board of Directors invites applications to fill three (3) positions for Board Director.  Based in Brisbane, QSNTS is the native title service provider for the southern half of Queensland.  We assist Traditional Owners in realising their native title aspirations to native title through statutory services, capacity development and advocacy for system reform.

The QSNTS’ Constitution aims for a majority of the Board Directors being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. 

The ideal candidates will have skills and experience in one, or more, of the following areas:

  • Anthropology;
  • Community Development with a focus on business development from cultural opportunities;
  • Client services strategy development;
  • Building philanthropic partnerships;
  • Legal expertise; and/or
  • Stakeholder engagement, including experience in building strategic partnerships.

Key selection criteria are:

  • Knowledge of native title, contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues and a preparedness to commit to the vision, goals and values of QSNTS;
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the identified areas of skill and expertise listed above;
  • Demonstrated abilities in the provision of leadership and strategic direction;
  • Experience in strategic planning, policy development and high-level decision making; and
  • Experience in a Director role will be highly regarded.

Additional Information

QSNTS engages a voluntary Board on a three year term.  There is policy provision for Directors to be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred, and for certain work time foregone, in carrying out their duties.  Travel associated with attending Board meetings is covered by QSNTS. Those selected for interview can be provided with a copy of the relevant policy for consideration.
