The Valley Sport Nominations Committee has been established to ensure those who serve on its board are as well credentialed and experienced as possible.  The Nomination Committee now seeks expressions of interest from people who wish to be considered for election to the board at this year’s AGM on 29 November, 2018

The attributes that the Nominations Committee are seeking include;

  • strategic thinkers,
  • have a familiarity with government and/or commercial operations and/or the sport industry,
  • have sound knowledge of community sport and recreation and/or health promotion and/or community development and/or inclusion and disability
  • understand and be able to apply the principles of best practice governance,
  • be creative, and
  • be an enthusiast for the role to be undertaken.

Valley Sport is committed to ensuring that our board reflects the composition of the Goulburn Valley community. This includes the appropriate representation of women, Indigenous Victorians, young Victorians and Victoria’s culturally diverse community.

Nomination for the 2018 election of Valley Sport Board members.

Please consider the Board Member Role Description and Code of Conduct, complete the attached NOMINATION FORM and send to Valley Sport Executive Officer David Quinn (email or hard copy) by 6.00pm on 16th November 2018.

All nominees must have their nomination proposed by a current board member of Valley Sport, of which their contact details can be found on the nomination form. (alternatively you can contact Valley Sport’s Executive Officer for this information).

For those who wish to nominate for election this year the Nominations Committee will review the nominations received (including the discretion to interview nominees) and develop a report for voting members to consider on how the nominees align with the aforementioned attributes. All nominees will be informed regardless of the outcome of the application.

Please note that the board term is for a 2 year period and commitment to that time-frame must be considered when putting forward a nomination for a board member position.
