Fundraising Coordinator Position Description

The Fundraising Coordinator is the chief organiser of fundraising arrangements for Deaf Basketball Australia and its National Teams. Deaf Basketball Australia comprises of a group of dedicated volunteers who are passionate in providing opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing people to participate in basketball at all levels.

Please note that this is a honorary/volunteer role. Reimbursement policies apply where appropriate.

The position responsibilities of the Fundraising Coordinator are:

  • Contribute to the development of Deaf Basketball Australia’s Fundraising plan
  • Assist the Marketing and Communication Coordinator with the development and delivery of campaigns to support fundraising activities
  • Support the DBA Committee and Fundraising Committee with the management of relationships with trusts, foundations, major donors and sponsors
  • Assist with the planning and management of special events that support Deaf Basketball Australia’s fundraising initiatives
  • Investigate opportunities, coordinate the timetabling and prepare submissions for grants and other fundraising prospects
  • Assist with the development of and adherence to fundraising policies and processes
  • Assist with the development and management of fundraising budgets
  • Undertake other tasks as required

Skills and experiences

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience in fundraising, ideally across all or most of the following: corporate, trusts and foundations and government
  • Experience in coordinating and drafting proposals, funding submissions or bid/pitch documents and other documentation associated with fundraising in various forms
  • Experience in developing and delivering fundraising campaigns
  • Demonstrated experience developing, managing and reporting on fundraising budgets
  • Demonstrated understanding of the sports and community sectors, and volunteering issues
  • Proficiency in MS Office, in particular Word and Excel

Desirable

  • Coordination and management of fundraising events
  • Experience with online and multimedia fundraising
  • Auslan skills
