The Not-for-profit Agenda (Webinar)
Date: 07 Aug 2025
Unfinished business for the social sector will take centre stage in the latest edition of the Not-for-profit Agenda.
The Institute of Community Directors Australia will air its free one-hour quarterly news webinar at 12.30pm (AEST) on Thursday, August 7.
This episode’s special guest is Australian Council of Social Services (ACOSS) chief executive Cassandra Goldie, a long-time advocate for Australia’s most disadvantaged communities.
Not-for-profit and charity leaders will hear how ACOSS plans to drive its agenda of welfare and social sector reforms – and how other organisations can support the push for change during the Albanese government’s second term.

Alongside Goldie’s live Q&A, the Community Directors webinar will also feature a series of video reports from sector leaders, including:
- Charities Minister Andrew Leigh outlining the government’s priorities
- Community Council for Australia CEO David Crosbie on the “Australia we want”
- Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission head Sue Woodward on emerging charity trends
- Australian Tax Office assistant commissioner Jennifer Moltisanti talking about the troubled rollout of the compulsory self-review return for nearly 155,000 organisations
- the Paul Ramsay Foundation’s Liz Yeo on the foundation’s support of the “Pay What It Takes” campaign
- US-based NFP tech leader Marnie Webb on using tech to save democracy
- Smith Family research chief Anne Hampshire on data tools that can do good
- Cool.org founder Thea Stinear on learning from a $150,000 tech failure.
This free webcast is part of ICDA’s mission to educate, inform and inspire leaders, directors and staff within the community sector, with more great guests expected to be added before the Not-for-profit Agenda airs.

What's a Webinar?
A Webinar is a seminar that's conducted over the internet.
Viewers watch a remote presentation on their own screens at a set broadcast time and can participate by typing and submitting questions they would like answered by the presenter.
Our Webinars are recorded and a copy is sent out to every registrant by default. So if you aren't able to watch the Webinar live at the scheduled time, you don't need to do anything - we'll send you a copy you can watch at your own pace on your own screen.
Why Webinars work
You'll learn at a time that suits you
If you can't join us at the scheduled time, we will automatically send you a recording you can watch at your own pace.
You can ask your burning questions
Our Webinars include a 45-minute presentation followed by a 15 minute interactive Q&A session where you'll call the shots. You do so by typing your questions during the Webinar.
You don't need an IT degree
There's no complicated software involved. You just need a reliable internet connection to participate. We'll email you instructions at each step too. Simple!
