Community boards are often tasked with overseeing one-off projects that align with strategic objectives but sit outside the annual plan or budget. Sometimes these projects are created to address a specific issue or explore a new opportunity. In either case, the success of the project depends on the board and management understanding their distinct roles and how to work together effectively.
At this training, you'll learn to:
- Clarify roles: Distinguish the responsibilities of the board versus management in project oversight and delivery.
- Think strategically: Align projects with long-term goals to maximise impact and value for your organisation.
- Assess risks: Identify potential challenges early and build strategies to mitigate them.
- Manage resources: Understand how to budget and allocate resources effectively for temporary, outcome-focused projects.
- Monitor progress: Track performance and ensure compliance without slipping into operational detail.
- Measure success: Evaluate impact and outcomes to ensure projects deliver meaningful results.
You’ll walk away with practical tools to ensure every project—no matter how complex—supports your organisation’s mission and is managed with confidence and clarity.
