Scaling your impact: Beyond enterprises to ecosystems (Webinar)

Date: 15 Oct 2024

When STREAT started its journey in 2009, its long-term plan was to scale through replicating its youth training program and social enterprise business model. But as the organisation has looked forward to 2040, its strategy is now focused on working with others and using a challenge-led innovation approach to fix complex problems and scale its impact.

For Bec Scott this feels like a precious arc in her career, returning to the challenge-led innovation approach she was involved with at the start of her career in science and innovation at the CSIRO.

At this keynote presentation, Bec will share some of STREAT’s more recent work collaborating with others to build networks, precincts, aggregators, communities of practice and incubators. Participants will learn top tips that will help them propel their work forward and have an impact on a larger scale.

Rebecca (Bec) is the co-founder and CEO of STREAT, a Melbourne-based social enterprise that works with marginalised young people aged 16-24 years and provides them with a healthy self, a job and a home. The organisation runs 16 foodservice businesses, including cafes, an artisan bakery, a catering company, and a coffee roastery. In its first decade STREAT worked intensively with over 500 young people, and with a further 1,500 through its outreach programs and short courses.

STREAT particularly loves collaborating with others on larger system-level projects, including the building of the Queen Victoria Market Purpose Precinct and the food system project Moving Feast.

What's a Webinar?

A Webinar is a seminar that's conducted over the internet.

Viewers watch a remote presentation on their own screens at a set broadcast time and can participate by typing and submitting questions they would like answered by the presenter.

Our Webinars are recorded and a copy is sent out to every registrant by default. So if you aren't able to watch the Webinar live at the scheduled time, you don't need to do anything - we'll send you a copy you can watch at your own pace on your own screen.

Why Webinars work

You'll learn at a time that suits you
If you can't join us at the scheduled time, we will automatically send you a recording you can watch at your own pace.

You can ask your burning questions
Our Webinars include a 45-minute presentation followed by a 15 minute interactive Q&A session where you'll call the shots. You do so by typing your questions during the Webinar.

You don't need an IT degree
There's no complicated software involved. You just need a reliable internet connection to participate. We'll email you instructions at each step too. Simple!
