Acting Ethically
#

One of the critical responsibilities of a board member is to act ethically. This can cut across all aspects of board work from strategic, financial, human resource and environmental decisions - to name a few. However, ethical issues are rarely straightforward and require discernment and judgement on the part of board members under the leadership of the chair.

Adjunct Professor Susan Pascoe AM has years of experience on boards, as a chair, and as the inaugural commissioner of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. She joins ICDA for a special Rethinking the Community Sector lecture to discuss the role of the chair in ensuring that decisions are made in an ethical manner, using examples she has seen and experienced.
