BEFORE START DATE

  • Employee advised of start time, date, location, and reporting person.

    • Complete online directory details.
  • Office facilities and services:

WEEK 1

  • Office buddy assigned:
    • Nearest cafes, lunch spots, parks.
    • Daily debriefs and weekly catch-ups.
    • Public transport and other local facilities.
  • Meet with team members:
    • Role of staff in the team.
    • Key projects for other team members.
    • Challenges for the team.
    • Team communication.
  • Meet with work unit admin staff:
    • Office systems and processes.
  • Meet with CEO:
    • Organisation history.
    • Vision and strategy.
    • Structure and culture.
    • Office layout.
    • Social and environmental goals.
  • Organisation-specific areas discussed.
  • Corporate induction completed.

MONTH 1

  • Follow up on uncompleted tasks.
  • Meet with Manager/Team Leader:
    • Key HR and finance responsibilities.
  • Work unit planning and reporting.
  • Professional learning:
    • Training needs identified and compulsory training completed/arranged.
    • Procedures, forms, website access.
  • Performance measures/KPIs established.
  • Probation process and any specific requirements discussed.
  • Relevant organisational policies, procedures, and delegations:
    • Location of policies on the website.
  • Business cards (if relevant).
  • Organisation-specific issues discussed.
